Premium Duo: one subscription for both partners

Premium Duo is the dividi subscription that unlocks Premium for both people in your Joint Account, whether you use iPhone, Android, or one of each. One partner subscribes; the other gets coverage through your shared account.

Your choice of phone shouldn’t decide who can use Premium to manage the month. Duo gives both of you access through one subscription, with separate dividi logins.

How does Premium Duo cover both partners?

Duo includes the same features as Premium Individual. What changes is who’s covered: the subscriber and the other person in their Joint Account. You each keep using your own dividi account.

That includes adding bills by voice with Divi. One of you might speak a bill while the other prefers filling out the form; you can each use the approach that fits your day.

Suppose you add the grocery bills on Android while your partner checks upcoming payments on iPhone. You both want Premium, and you already manage your household expenses together. Duo covers that setup without asking each of you to buy an Individual subscription.

Do you need Duo on iPhone and Android?

For couples where at least one person uses Android, Duo is the recommended option when both want Premium.

Apple supports sharing eligible App Store subscriptions through a family group. Its guide to content you can share with your family explains eligibility, including subscriptions from participating apps.

Google Play’s Family Library works differently: it doesn’t share in-app purchases, as the official Family Library guide explains. dividi Duo provides coverage through your Joint Account instead of relying on store-level family sharing.

If you both use iPhone, check Family Sharing first. The Duo plan screen also points out when that option can already cover you both.

How much does Premium Duo cost in the U.S.?

The dividi plans page lists these U.S. dollar prices, checked on September 29, 2026:

Each comparison uses the same billing period: two monthly subscriptions against monthly Duo, or two annual subscriptions against annual Duo. Annual Duo costs about 30% less than two annual Individual subscriptions.

The $20.99 annual price works out to about $1.75 a month for both people, but it’s an annual purchase. Check the price and billing period shown by the store in the app before confirming.

That savings comparison applies when you’d otherwise need two subscriptions. If you both use iPhone and already share Premium through Family Sharing, compare Duo with one Individual subscription instead.

How do you choose Duo and check coverage?

1. Open the subscription area in Settings. Existing Individual subscribers can use Discover Premium Duo.
2. Select Premium Duo on the plan screen and choose monthly or annual billing. Check the recommendation for your phones and the purchase price.
3. Make sure your partner has accepted the Joint Account invitation. Adding their name alone doesn’t complete account sharing.
4. Return to the subscription area to check the coverage information.

Before your partner joins, the app says coverage becomes active for both once the other person joins your joint account. Once the account identifies your partner, the coverage line names both of you: “Coverage: you and [name]”.

On the receiving partner’s phone, the plan screen explains that Premium is already covered through Duo. You don’t need to subscribe again. Premium features stay available while that coverage is active.

What if one of you already has Premium Individual?

The person who already subscribes can switch to Duo to cover both partners. The app also offers that guidance when it identifies an active subscription belonging to your partner.

Before another purchase, agree on who will keep the subscription and review the store’s terms for switching plans. If you both already pay, check the renewal of the other subscription too: getting Duo coverage isn’t the same as canceling an earlier purchase.

Frequently asked questions about Premium Duo

Does my partner need to join a Joint Account?

Yes. Duo covers both people in the Joint Account. Until your partner joins, the app shows pending coverage and explains that coverage becomes active for both when the other person joins the shared account.

Does the covered partner need another subscription?

No. The plan screen tells you when you already have Premium through your partner’s Duo. While coverage is active, every Premium feature stays unlocked without a second purchase.

Does Duo include more features than Individual?

No. The Premium features are the same. Duo changes the coverage to include both Joint Account members. Choose based on who needs Premium and which phones you use.

Should two iPhone users buy Duo?

Not necessarily. If you share the subscription through Apple Family Sharing, Premium Individual may be enough. Check that setup before choosing Duo.

Which plan fits the way you manage money together?

If either of you uses Android and both want Premium, consider Duo. If you both use iPhone with Family Sharing configured, check whether Individual already does the job.
